COVID-19 Safety and Protocols
WSWA Health and Safety Policy at WSWA Events
Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all WSWA-hosted in-person events ("WSWA Events"). WSWA will implement health and safety protocols at WSWA events aligned and in compliance with the requirements and recommendations of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and federal, state, and local health authorities.
Preventative measures are evolving and will be continuously updated as your WSWA Event draws near. All attendees, including, but not limited to, wholesalers, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, media, WSWA staff, service providers, and others are expected to abide by all WSWA policies for WSWA events.
Our team will continue to evaluate a variety of protocols to enhance our guidelines, which may include, among others:
Proof of negative COVID-19 test
Social distancing
Enhanced sanitization of meeting and exhibit spaces
Mandatory face covering
As of July 1, 2022, no U.S. state has a mask mandate, and masks are not required in indoor settings at WSWA Events.
Even in the absence of a government mandate, every attendee has the right to wear a face covering based upon personal preference.
Please monitor WSWA email communications for details on preventive measures being implemented prior to traveling to your WSWA Event. If you are not already receiving email updates from WSWA about our events, please update your communication preferences. We also recommend that you consult your airline for requirements prior to commencing travel to any WSWA Event.
The responsibility for a safe and healthy event environment is shared by every attendee. All WSWA Event attendees are expected to adhere to and abide by health and safety precautions implemented for the meeting. Please do not attend a WSWA event in person if you:
Are not fully vaccinated or boosted (two weeks after the last required shot per CDC guidance)
Are experiencing, or within the 10 days prior, have experienced signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
Believe that you may have been recently exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19.
Have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by the health care team responsible for your treatment.
In choosing to attend a WSWA event in person you understand that in-person gatherings carry certain risks related to transmission of any infectious disease that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid such risks. You voluntarily accept and assume all known and unknown risks related to exposure to any infectious disease in connection with any WSWA Event.
In consideration of the opportunity to participate in a WSWA Event, you and the company you represent agree to FOREVER RELEASE, WAIVE, AND HOLD HARMLESS WSWA and/or its members, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability, injury, damage, loss, or expense that may arise, directly or indirectly, now or in the future, regardless of whether caused by fault on the part of WSWA, in connection with your attendance at a WSWA Event.
By participating in a WSWA Event, YOU VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL KNOWN AND UNKNOWN RISKS RELATED TO EXPOSURE TO COMMUNICABLE DISEASES. YOU PROMISE NOT TO SUE WSWA and/or its members, officers, employees, and agents for any of the claims that you have released, waived, and discharged. You hereby assume all risk of personal injury, damage and expense related to your participation in, and travel to and from, the WSWA Event. You understand this release and waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law, and that if any portion of this release and waiver is held invalid, the remainder will continue in full legal force and effect. This release and waiver shall extend to and be binding upon you and your estate, heirs, executors, administrators, and personal representatives.
You understand and agree that refusal to adhere to these policies and abide by these precautions may result in immediate removal from the WSWA Event and cancellation of your registration without receiving a refund.
All WSWA policies, including that contained herein, are subject to change.
